How to add an MCP server in ChatGPT
Add an MCP server in ChatGPT on the web: turn on Developer Mode, add a custom app, paste the server URL, and sign in with OAuth. Done Bear at mcp.donebear.com/mcp is the to-do list example. Writes wait for your approval.
Requirements: Business or Enterprise/Edu for write actions; Pro for read and fetch only. ChatGPT web is required.

Turn on Developer Mode
In ChatGPT on the web, open Settings, then Apps, then Advanced settings, and turn on Developer Mode. Workspace admins control whether this is available on Business and Enterprise/Edu. Free and Plus cannot add custom MCP apps.

Add the MCP server URL
Add a custom app and paste the MCP server URL. For a to-do list, use Done Bear at https://mcp.donebear.com/mcp. Any Streamable HTTP MCP server works the same way. Done Bear is the task-list example.

Authorize with OAuth
Approve the browser sign-in. For Done Bear this is OAuth into your workspace, with scopes you can revoke later.

Use it on a real list
Enable the connector from the tools menu. Ask ChatGPT to list today's tasks or add one. Write actions on Business and Enterprise/Edu need your approval; Pro is limited to read and fetch.
